From 1997 (when he graduated from the French primary school “École Marie-Victorin” in Brossard (with the highest grades from his class) and until 2002, Tim was a student at the “École Secondaire Antoine- Brossard”. He graduated from the public institution with exceptional results, at graduation being one of the most awarded students (the first in a number of categories, in a school that had hundreds of students). It was also a time that defined true friendships : his closest circle of friends formed and never disintegrated.

Tim was generally inclined to spend time studying and reading. He excelled in the exact sciences, excelling in mathematics and physics. On the humanistic side, he always preferred a systematic knowledge of culture, reading one by one the great masterpieces of French, English and American literature. At the same time, his great love for movies was born. His critical eye saw, with special acuity, structures and messages in films. It was a time when family movie nights were organized, followed by discussions and reviews. Soon, Tim began to lead these debates, through mature personal opinions, increasingly difficult to contest. His film chronicles date from the same period, distributed on several critical sites (see also the section ‘Culture and Spirituality’).

Also, in those years of computer games febrility, Tim was also a fierce enthusiast. But “gaming” was a strong and ephemeral passion. After the age of 17, he remained only a passive lover, interested in the field of games but without them being at the forefront of his focus.

Family vacations (both in North America and in Europe) ignited his passion for travel, and his thirst for knowledge were the prelude to his later expeditions.

From 2002 to 2004, Tim attended the Marianopolis Private College in Montreal. Although the family suggested various alternatives (medicine or law, where he would have excelled with his prodigious memory), Tim turned to science and engineering, graduating from Honor Roll in 2004, and adding some exceptional friends to the already formed nucleus from high school. In fact, he had made this career choice a long time ago, and his acceptance to the prestigious McGill University in Montreal was only a formality, given the college results.

Between 2004 and 2013, Tim studied at McGill University. A bicentennial institution with over 40,000 students and a remarkable history (12 Nobel laureates and 140 'Rhodes Scholars'), McGill is a university recognized in academia and which became for Tim, for 9 years, a second home. He spent a lot of time on the downtown Montreal campus, getting involved in academic programs, laboratories but also in student life (being a member of the board of the student association). Also, for a period of four years, Tim also contributed to several financial domain courses - 'Managerial Corporate Finance’, ‘Managerial Economics’ și ‘Engineering Economics’ - as a TA (Teaching Assistant).

McGill was the place where Tim's creative force fully asserted itself. He graduated with a 4-year program (Bachelor in Engineering) in 2008 with admirable results, being congratulated upon graduation (with a traditional hit of the head with a vintage hat) by McGill Chancellor, Dr. Dick Pound (vice president of IOC - International Olympic Committee).

In the fall after graduation, after a trip to Central America (see more below), the University offered him a special 5-year program, which combined the Master in Engineering with a PhD. He chose the program (shorter than a Master and a separate PhD) and completed it in 2013. His specialization in composite materials, under the mentorship of Prof. Pascal Hubert, became his profession and passion. He has studied extensively, published, and presented his papers at numerous conferences in the United States, Europe, and New Zealand. He himself started a mentoring program for young students, which has been much appreciated. His doctoral thesis remains to this day a reference, cited in the literature of composite materials.
