Personal Journeys

In the summer of 2008, already a Bachelor graduate, Tim made an old wish come true: a first personal trip, an adventurous journey, with strong historical and anthropological accents. Together with his good friend Dana Jaccobi (colleague at Marianopolis and McGill) they planned a 3-month adventure, with a packed itinerary: Mexico from north to south (following in the footsteps of ancient civilizations), Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and Nicaragua.

In the many travel notes he sent us by Email, when he could, to check-in with family (it was a time without mobile phones, without Facebook, WhatsApp or Viber), Tim fascinatingly described the captivating places he visited. With a focused eye on beauty, mystery and the magic of unknown places, he took pictures of great quality, witnessing that captivating adventure.

It was also his first opportunity to study active volcanoes, a passion he later repeated in the Hawaiian Islands and Indonesia, and also an opportunity for him to get his diving certification, in the Belize Islands, for shallow and deep sea diving (Scuba Diving and Deep Diving).

Another first-time adventure for him was in the summer of 2012. Taking advantage in attending a conference in Auckland, he set aside time and, along with another good friend (Jim Kratz, a colleague from McGill), traveled through New Zealand for 3 weeks, admiring the nature, glaciers, the flora and fauna of these places.
